This is the mechanism that creates the molded characters. From a picture it looks pretty hard to work out whats what. I think it would be difficult to graphically show this and do an illustration for it.
Here someone has done a pretty successful illustration but its still difficult to understand the process without physically watching the step by step guide with someone explaining. Maybe a video would be appropriate.
