Websites - GOOD vs BAD

GOOD
www.bestmadeco.com/collections/home
Simple. Id much prefer a simple website to navigate with a neutral layout and background rather then a busy website that is hard to navigate. I like how everything is white and easy to see.

Not a typically well designed website but for blogging it serves its function. Simple to navigate with little or no links. Just pages of blogged images. The webpage loads fast which is essential for a blog. So in this context I think this style/design is relevent. Function over form.

I have used this example before as part of a branding task. The red triangle appeals to me. I like how the background is neutral and minimal.

Again everything you need. Easy to navigate and when you click on a poster and theirs a cool left to right scroll. This allows you to view an artists work and enjoy viewing it at the same time.

Wimp.com
Looks like a terrible website but for functionality and purpose you can't beat it. So addictive you will find yourself on it for ages. By simply clicking next you are given a generally entertaining video to watch. If the video order is one you have previously viewed you can click random.

Pinterest has a cool layout with is very user friendly. The 'Pin it' button is extremely useful and makes blogging super quick. The interactive image tiles work well which makes pinning easy. I think the 'board' feature is useful and it allows you to store stuff you like it an organised fashion.

Not much content on the website but I like how the content that is featured moves right to left across the screen as an animation overlaying.

BAD

This website has some really cool products on it which I feel inclined to buy. But the design of the website makes me feel uneasy and even distrust the company. Don't get the pumpkins around the top of the banner. If this had a quirky design it would defiantly sell more products.

The student finance website is a nightmare. Especially when trying to navigate it and sort your finance out. The log in is difficult, there is no way to save or remember your passwords which are extremely long. Hate it with a passion. Sort it out please.

MSN home is pretty clutter and hard to navigate. When I need to log on to my hotmail account it takes me too long every time to find the link. Theres just too much going on for it to be of any use.

Does anyone use Ask Jeeves? Probably not because it is just really inferior to Google. I wish it wasn't or I would use it.

This is the website for Yale School of Art. Pretty terrible. Its open to the Yale students though so I guess they just do what they want to it making changes that which look bad. The colour scheme is hideous and it makes it hard to digest the information about courses and programs.

While looking for the best japanese websites I found the worst japanese website.

This website is really bad.
